The pharmacy industry has a shocking secret: pharmacists are getting shortchanged on NEARLY EVERY VACCINE THEY ADMINISTER — anywhere from $10 to $100 per flu vaccine. But we’ve found a way to fight back.Introducing the PAYBACK CALCULATOR — find out how much money you could be losing by not billing vaccines to medical insurance. It takes just a few minutes, and the results will shock you. We’re building the most comprehensive free resource for pharmacy medical billing, credentialing, and claim submission. SCANDAL: MANY PHARMACISTS GET PAID SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN OTHER PROVIDERS FOR THE EXACT SAME SERVICES #PharmacyPaybackTimeThe pharmacy industry has a dirty little secret: we’ve uncovered that most pharmacists are getting lower reimbursem*nts than they should on NEARLY EVERY VACCINE THEY ADMINISTER TO PATIENTS — anywhere from $10 to $100 per flu vaccine*. You read that right: in most cases, a provider gets a dramatically higher reimbursem*nt rate for administering the exact same service or vaccine than a pharmacist does. It turns out that when providers submit their reimbursem*nts to medical insurance, they get reimbursed for both the drug as well as the act of administering it. When pharmacists submit a claim to PBM (known as d.0 reimbursem*nt), they only get reimbursed for the drug—essentially administering the vaccine FOR FREE. We are outraged. Big PBMs want pharmacists to think that getting RIPPED OFF by greedy reimbursem*nt rates is the only option. But we looked into it, and that’s not true. Pharmacists can bill medical benefits and get the EXACT SAME RATES as physicians in almost every state if they know how. We’re fed up with PBM greed and tired of watching pharmacists get paid way less for the same damn vaccines. It’s time to fight back and get what we deserve — it’s #PharmacyPaybackTime.Today, we launched the PAYBACK CALCULATOR — answer a few questions about your pharmacy and we’ll provide a rough estimate on how much money you could be missing by not billing your flu vaccines to medical insurance. It only takes 2-3 minutes, but we’re willing to bet the number will shock you.But that’s not all — we’re building the Internet’s best and most thorough free online resource for all things pharmacy medical billing, credentialing, and claim submission. Our software makes getting credentialed and billing to medical insurance way easier, but even without it, you can use our resources and bring medical billing to your pharmacy completely for free.We think it’s time for pharmacists to get loud and get the payment we deserve. We’re DONE with PBM greed and we’re not gonna stop agitating the PBMs until every single pharmacist knows there’s something they can do to get the vaccine reimbursem*nts they deserve. This is a scandal and we’re standing up to shout ENOUGH.Calculate your payback, then help us spread the word: it’s #PharmacyPaybackTime. scripted.co/paybacktime__*Taken from an internal study with data provided by chain pharmacies & reimbursem*nt data from submitting medical claims. FINE PRINT: The Payback Calculator creates an estimate based on flu vaccine reimbursem*nts (self-reported commercial rates and publicly available Medicare/state Medicaid data). This estimate is intended to educate about the significant disparity between Pharmacy d.0 (PBM) and medical insurance reimbursem*nt rates. It may not be accurate or representative. Actual medical insurance reimbursem*nt rates vary by vaccine product, payer & state.

Despite what some skeptics might tell you, allowing pharmacists to prescribe directly to patients is NOT a radical proposal. Since 2023 in B.C., Canada, it’s the law of the land. So what really happens when #pharmacistsprovidecare to patients? New data shows that a whopping 90% of patients approve of pharmacists’ expanded prescriptive authority in the year since new regulations have taken effect. NINETY percent. As Americans, it can be challenging to imagine 90% of our populace agreeing on anything, but Canadian pharmacists have made it happen for B.C. residents. That’s not all: 73% of polled patients reported high confidence levels in pharmacists ordering lab tests, and 79% have confidence in pharmacists offering point-of-care testing. They also stated convenience and trust were top motivating reasons for seeking care at a community pharmacy. The data tells a clear story: common sense, low-risk advanced services at community pharmacies benefit patients AND pharmacists. #LetUsPrescribe

Today, a Philadelphia pharmacy that’s been serving the local community for 26 years announced that PBM greed is forcing them to permanently close their doors. According to a new story in the Philadelphia Inquirer, pharmacist Brad Tabaac has been working in drug stores since he was just 11 years old. On May 31, after 26 years in business, Friendly Pharmacy has been forced to close its doors. He’s not shy about explaining the reason why: it’s PBM greed, plain and simple. The Inquirer points out that last Monday, of the 318 prescriptions Friendly Pharmacy filled, the PBM reimbursem*nt for 1/3 of them was less than $3. For 22 of those prescriptions, the pharmacy lost money. When pharmacies are forced to turn patients away because the PBM reimbursem*nt rate for a drug is so pitifully low — when independent businesses that have served communities for DECADES begin shuttering their windows across the country — we think it’s clear that something has gone very, very wrong in this industry. The closure of Friendly Pharmacy isn’t a tragedy. It’s an outrage. It’s another community business being squeezed to the point of insolvency by the casual cruelty of PBMs who shore up their own bottom lines at the expense of our pharmacies and our patients.
Aren’t you tired of reading stories like these? We are. That’s why we spend every day busting our butts to build a real financial alternative to reliance on these vampiric PBMs. All of our businesses depend on it.Bring medical billing to your pharmacy and reduce your reliance on the PBMs: https://buff.ly/3extkh9Read the full story in the Philadelphia Inquirer: https://buff.ly/3QBgYVC
