Now that you know the best champions for LoL, get the best champions for Teamfight Tactics with our TFT tier list or Wild Rift with our Wild Rift tier list.

We also have a best decks tier list for LoR and an agent tier list for Valorant.

Methodology TLDR:

  • Our first tier list aimed at lower ELO, specifically Bronze up to high Plat/low Diamond. Our second tier list is for high ELO, aimed at Diamond 2 and above.
  • Our experts curate these picks and are an indicator of the champion’s inherent strength when played at the highest level. For many of the user base, this information isn’t super relevant for their games but provides invaluable insight into the game itself.

Let’s say you’re debating between learning and climbing with Jax (A-tier | Simple) or Rengar (A-tier | Severe) – you’re going to want to go with Jax. Why? This is because Jax has a lower skill floor and would require less games to play at an A-Tier level in solo Queue. If you tried to pick up Rengar, you wouldn’t get the full value of A-tier until after about 15 matches of practice whereas with Jax, you would get that full 15 every time you play him.

Expert pick commentary

To see all the explanations for our expert picks and more, head to our tier list feature!

Top –Fiora

  • Fiora is a monster top lane pick in the right hands and with the changes this split we expect to see Fiora rise back into one of the most popular and most successful champions to play again.
  • Fiora is fantastic at shredding through tankier top lane matchups with her passive vitals and if you know how to play her well enough you can win any lane, and carry any game!

Jungle – Udyr

  • Udyr has already been one of the highest performing junglers in the game over the last few patches and this will likely continue to the base in Split 3.
  • He clears the jungle exceptionally quickly, can obliterate objectives and can just easily get such a huge experience and gold lead above his enemies meaning when he decides to fight, not only does he deal tons of damage, but he also feels unstoppable too!

Mid – Aurelion Sol

  • Aurelion Sol is an AoE scaling mid lane machine who is the perfect pick for all the changes in Patch 14.19.
  • He has been pretty strong recently already and now with the changes looks to be one of the best options to go for his crazy late game damage and 1v9 potential.

Bottom – Kog’Maw

  • Kog’Maw has been somewhat underrated for a while now, but with the changes in Split 3 this is where he will bounce back again.
  • The changes are all about reducing damage across the board similar to the durability patch a few years ago but this time focusing on items, and Kog is the perfect tank shredding late game hypercarry that excels in this kind of meta! With assassins, bruisers and burst being hit hard this patch, it’s time to bring out Kog and enjoy the LP!

Support – Senna

  • Senna is looking to be one of the strongest performing champions in the game as we take on Split 3. Her stats have already been amazing recently, and with the changes in Patch 14.19 she’s only going to prove even more dominant.
  • She’s got amazing laning, scaling & carry potential from the support role, so give her a go!

Top – Camille

  • Camille has had one of her best seasons to date, and literally ALL year she’s been up there with some of the best champions in the game.
  • She’s got a solid lane phase, amazing setup CC, fantastic 1v2 potential and she can outplay and carry against all the odds in the right hands.
  • Although the changes to items will affect Camille this split, they definitely don’t impact her as much as many of her other top lane peers, meaning she’ll continue to pop off in the majority of games.

Jungle – Karthus

  • Karthus is one of those champions that thrives in games where he can simply powerfarm and scale into the late game like a dream.
  • He’s got insane clears, strong early damage and spikes extremely hard with each item built, so in this Split 3 we expect him to rise back to the top again, especially at higher ranks.

Mid – Syndra

  • Syndra has always been a popular mid lane pick at higher ranks and with games slowing down slightly in Split 3 this allows her to scale and stomp late game lobbies far more often.
  • Syndra has a strong lane phase, famously potent power spikes through the early to mid game and snowballs exceptionally well in games where she gets the upper hand.

Bottom – Kai’Sa

  • Kai’Sa has had a very consistent year so far being a heavily contested ADC in almost every single meta so far, especially so in split 2.
  • With all the changes in Split 3, we expect Kai’Sa to continue to be one of the most dominant and popular picks in the entire game, especially so in high elo. She’s incredibly versatile and can work into a huge amount of different matchups and drafts, making her the perfect choice to main!

Support – Lulu

  • Lulu’s buffs last patch saw her rise back into those top tiers across every single rank and with all the changes in Patch 14.19 we expect her to continue to be one of the best enchanters and supports you can play.
  • Lulu is the perfect addition to most team comps and always has a way to impact games no matter how far ahead or behind she may be, as she can peel and protect her most valuable teammates and make them so much harder to shut down!

Disclaimer #1: If a champion isn’t on our LoL Tier List, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t climb with them. You’ll just have to put in more effort to get similar results as our Optimal, Great, and Good choices for climbing.
Disclaimer #2: This list is meant to evaluate the champions that we believe are best for climbing Solo Queue. Although there can certainly be some overlap, we are NOT looking to name the champions that are the best in pro-play or organized, competitive 5-on-5. This is why champs that require a ton of team coordination such as Ryze, may not be included or ranked highly.

As always, we welcome all discussion and feedback. If you have any questions about picks that we didn’t expand on or would like to let us know how you feel about Patch 14.19 and our predictions in general, join us in our Discord!
